The usual ‘intermediate sax’ is unnecessary if this sax is the one you start off with. I also have a beautiful hardwood Dolnet Clarinet for sale. This alto saxophone is well built and is fit to last until the user is ready for a professional level sax. International bidders are welcome but please contact me for shipping costs before bidding. If you want to test play it contact me and we can arrange it. I have owned Selmers, Yanigasawa, Bueschers, King Zephyr and Super 20 and the Dolnet blows them all away. Plays and sounds better than any horn I ever owned. It appears to have had replacement locks fitted that operate and there are two keys. Found a silver plated Dolnet Belair tenor completely overhauled with mint original finish. If you look at the keys, brace & guard as far as I can see they are set out identically! It comes in a black hard case with a blue lining that is in good condition with just a little minor damage. This model appears to be a copy of the Selmer Mk 7.
All the keys operate as they should and there are no parts missing. This sax plays well with no leaks that I am aware of. The neck is in good condition with no damage however almost all the lacquer has worn off.
It does not appear to be marked with a serial number. The lacquer has worn off over about 50% of the body as can be seen in the photos. The body is in good condition with just some minor dings, no significant damage. The body is brass and the keys appear to be nickel plated. It is engraved on the bell ‘Dolnet Super Studium’. This Eb alto is made by the French manufacturer Dolnet.
